Troubleshoot the tutorial, controller or game version
Exit a stuck Tape to Tape skill tutorial on PC
ReviewedIn the reported Tape to Tape PC case, the player had rebound the special ability to Caps Lock, but the tutorial still demanded Shift and would not respond to Escape. They later confirmed that closing the game with Alt+F 4 and relaunching let them proceed without the tutorial.
This is an attributed workaround for leaving a stalled tutorial, not a fix that completes its skill step or awards the tutorial achievement. Another player reported a similar stall even when the ability could activate.

Match the symptom before using the workaround
- You are blocked at the special-ability or skill-activation instruction.
- The displayed prompt may disagree with a binding you changed.
- Escape does not leave that reported tutorial state.
- If your problem is ordinary controller movement elsewhere, use the separate left-stick guide instead.
The original poster’s recovery
- Note the stuck instruction and any custom binding you changed.
- If the tutorial offers a working normal exit, use it. For the unresponsive PC case described above, the original poster instead used Alt+F 4 to close the game.
- Relaunch Tape to Tape from Steam and check whether it allows you to continue without the stalled tutorial, as it did for that player.
- Review the special-ability binding before starting another attempt, so you know which action your device is mapped to.
Closing a stall is not the same as fixing the lesson
Force-closing can discard the current unsaved state. The report only establishes that the next launch bypassed this player’s tutorial; it does not guarantee identical behavior, preserved progress or a permanently repaired tutorial on every installation.
Do not delete your save to force a tutorial rerun. This source does not support that action. If you want to finish the lesson or earn its achievement, a successful game launch alone is not proof that either happened.
If you are still blocked after relaunching
Report the exact instruction, your input device, the original and new bindings, and the installed version. Include whether the action can activate outside that instruction. Those details distinguish a remapped-key mismatch from the other player’s activation-but-no-progress report.
Keep the source’s platform scope: Alt+F 4 is a PC action. This guide does not translate it into an unverified console-button sequence.
Check the result
You can relaunch into a playable state or provide a precise unresolved-stall report; tutorial completion remains a separate check.
