Use both Double Decker lines deliberately
ReviewedTape to Tape's Double Decker Squad uses two complete lines with manual changes. Compare the L1 and L2 stamina indicators during a match and learn the line-change action displayed by your own setup. L1 and L2 identify the two lines in this explanation; they are not a universal instruction to press similarly named controller buttons.
A change is useful only if the incoming players can continue the play. Prepare two workable lineups before the opening match rather than leaving all your usable options on one line.

Give the second line a complete job
Inspect both lines in Edit Lineup and decide who can receive a pass, move possession onward and recover after a turnover. This is our suggested preparation check, not a mandatory formation or a promise that particular player names are available.
Avoid judging the reserve line only by whether it contains another star scorer. Ask what happens if the puck goes loose immediately after the change. If you cannot identify a useful response from that group, reconsider the distribution before testing stamina management in a difficult match.
Make a change you can evaluate
- Before the first faceoff, identify the current on-screen line-change control for your device.
- During play, compare both stamina indicators rather than watching the active line alone.
- When the inactive line is fresher, look for an opportunity where changing will not immediately abandon an important defensive responsibility.
- Use the displayed action and identify which players you now control before continuing the attack or defense.
- Keep comparing the two lines as the game continues instead of treating the first change as a permanent switch.
Separate a late change from a weak replacement
If the incoming group is fresh but cannot sustain possession, changing earlier is not necessarily the whole solution. Review its player roles and the situation in which you made the switch. If you repeatedly forget the second line, make checking both indicators part of the same possession review as locating your controlled skater.
The source illustrates a yellow L1 bar beside a green L2 bar. That is an observable comparison from its match, not a universal color threshold, fixed change interval or stamina calculation. This guide does not establish the exact recovery rate.
Line changes are not ordinary Bench development
This task is rotating two playing lines during a Double Decker match. The campaign Bench guide instead concerns a reserve sitting out a game for a displayed development reward. Do not assume that changing lines grants that reward or that every Squad offers Double Decker's controls.
Check the result
You can identify both lines, execute your displayed change action and judge whether the incoming group improves the current situation.
